Yahoo's Semel gets a nice bonus - Mar. 2, 2007: "Yahoo announced last year that Semel would receive an annual salary of just $1 a year for 2006 through 2008 and the right to receive up to 1 million stock options as a bonus."
"Yahoo said that Semel's stock options have an exercise price of $32.12 a share, which was the closing price of Yahoo's stock on February 26, the date the grant was awarded."
"Yahoo's stock took a tumble this week, along with the rest of the market. Shares closed on Friday at $30.42. So these options are currently underwater, meaning that Semel would lose money if he exercised them now."
GE's Immelt takes home $17.9M - Feb. 27, 2007: "General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt received $17.9 million in compensation last year, according to a company filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission."
"In a proxy statement detailing executive compensation, GE said Immelt's payout included $3.3 million in salary, $5 million in bonus, $7.4 million in stock awards and options valued at $574,322."
Immelt's payout also included other benefits - such as payments for life insurance, retirement plans and use of the company aircraft - valued at about $1.6 million."
"GE's stock rose about 12 percent in 2006."
